The oral form of the steroid is known to cause damages to liver and kidneys since they pass through the GI tract. Headaches, mood swings, heart ailments, cancer and psychological issues are also known to occur. The biggest worry is that of addiction to steroids. Once they tasted the fruits of steroids, they want to continue to use it and at times crave the steroid. Getting out of steroid use is also difficult and one should start lowering the dose step by step over a period of time and then stop using it. This is the safest way, else it may lead to sudden and drastic unwanted effects. Consultation with a physician and charting out a strategy is recommended.
